My favorite podcasts: AMANDA PALMER

Published on 2017-09-27

I am often asked this question: Which is your favorite podcast? Finally, at long last, here is a selection of my favorite shows! This is my episode with Amanda Palmer.

Amanda Palmer is a musician and writer who first rose to prominence as the lead singer, pianist, and lyricist/composer of the duo The Dresden Dolls. In addition to a successful solo career, she is also one-half of the duo Evelyn Evelyn, and is the lead singer and songwriter of Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra. Her 2014 memoir is The Art of Asking: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help.

On this podcast, I talked to Amanda about her wild and wandering path to the rock stage, and about how behind her artistic ambitions is the drive to feel real. "What I really wanted was to feel like I was doing something that contributed and mattered, and that I was in a true conversation with the world and with other people."
