The Laundromat Project champions the voices, cultures, imaginations, knowledge, and leadership of people of color (POC). By subscribing to The Laundromat Project’s Drip, you will help us invest in a world in which artists and neighbors in communities of color work together to unleash the power of creativity to transform their lives and surroundings!
We believe that when artists and communities collaborate toward collective goals, we create meaningful transformation and wellbeing. While we are active citywide, our core programs are rooted in three culturally rich neighborhoods: Bed-Stuy, Harlem, and Hunts Point/Longwood. Our programs include our Create Change Artist Development program and Kelly Street Collaborative, which brings art, artists, and arts programming into everyday spaces to advance artists and neighbors as change agents in their own communities.
Since 2005, The Laundromat Project has directly invested nearly $850,000 in over 160 multiracial, multigenerational, and multidisciplinary artists, 67 innovative public art projects, 3 diverse anchor neighbors, and 1 creative community hub while engaging over 38,000 New Yorkers.
We are committed to societal change by supporting artmaking, community building, and leadership development. Now we’re looking to you, our wider community, to help sustain our work!
