INKTOBER #1 - Tales by Starlight

Published on 2018-10-02

#Inktober is an annual drawing challenge that artists from around the world participate in. There's been an official prompt list since 2016, but some artists like to just forge their own paths, and produce artwork on a daily basis for the month. Me, I probably won't be doing something every day. Using a pen is so foreign to me (all my art is digital) that it takes ages to get into the 'zone.'

But I will be posting a few extra images this month, just for you wonderful supporters.

One of the questions I've been asked a lot since completing work on Triumviratus is "WHAT'S NEXT?" It's a question I'm asking myself too. So I thought that, for the rest of October, I'd post a few images from potential projects, all hand-drawn by me (using reference). This will get my head back in the game, and will also give me a small stack of original art I can bundle up as a reward for my next Kickstarter launch.

Feel free to weigh in over the course of the month if one or more of these projects really gets you fired up. All opinions will be taken into consideration!

So without further ado, here's today's potential future project.

Through time and space, across countless worlds both real and imagined,  the legend of James Flamestar travels like a note on the breeze.  Sometimes alone, sometimes with companions, James Flamestar appears  wherever there is injustice and wages war on behalf of the  disenfranchised, with music as his weapon of choice.

Tales by Starlight is a four-issue miniseries that tells a new Flamestar  story, a spiritual sequel to 2014's James Flamestar and the Stargazers. Where the Stargazers series explored the relationship of music  to human passion and experience, Tales by Starlight is one that ties the  power of music to the natural harmonies and rhythms of all life on  earth.

Change the world.
