Soo, we had some tech issues and this post was meant to go up last week, when we were still at MITTEN Lab. Sorry! This year's residency, the third annual one, included us, playwright Eric Grant, and playwright Liz Morgan. It was founded by Rachel Sussman and Katherine Carter, which made it like a mini-NYMF reunion, since Rachel is the producing artistic director at NYMF and Katherine directed Sonata 1962 in this year's festival.
We got to work with some students from Interlochen Center for the Arts, who performed a few scenes and songs from Interstate. It was so fun watching young folx discover our work and watch them translate it through their own experiences. We were so impressed by how quickly they learned the songs cuz they're not easy!
Here's our original post:
Hi from Bear Lake everyone!
First off, thank you so much to our 11 Founding Members for joining us!!! Melissa and I are here working on our new '80s dance aerobics musical and Interstate! So far we haven't seen any bears or bobcats, but we're still on the lookout, they are keeping us super well nourished as we write and we should be able to share some new work soon! Stay tuned!
